Review of Yamaha YZF R15 150cc

The Indian subsidiary of Yamaha Motors has planned to launch the new 150cc bike in India. The bike is expected to be based on the latest technology and it will be one of the fastest machines on roads. The new YZF R15 and FZ 150 cc bikes are being proposed by one of the best two wheeler company Yamaha and expectations about the specifications are being made by the buyers.

The company has currently not detailed upon, all the details related to the bike but assumptions are being made based on the display of the bike in the Auto Expo in New Delhi that was held in January. The bike may come up in market by Diwali.

Looks of the bike

The Yamaha bike YZF R15 has gorgeous looks and will be competent with the 150cc range contenders’ .The bike will come up with a complete black theme and it will be similar to the earlier YZF-R model of Yamaha. The look of the bike has been designed to keep up with the expectations of the rider and it will be truly amazing. It will have a fuel tank to store around 18 to 20 liters. The bike will have rear disc brake and liquid cooling facilities.A delta Box frame will be present and various accessories like the riding gear and R1 style instrument console is also present in the bike. The headlights have the “2-eye” multi-reflector design that is found in the YZF-R kind of bikes.

Engine and Power of the Bike

Some of the specialties of the bike are new and for the first time the Yamaha bike will using a MotoGP technology .The engine of the bike will be a 4 stroke 150cc engine with SOHC and has a single-cylinder with a fuel-injected engine. The bike will be equipped with forged aluminum pistons in the engine, a Delta box frame and 6 speed gear box.

The bike will have a power of 15 bhp and has a non FI engine. The silencer in the bike will be unique and bigger than normal. The engine is a 4 stroke one equipped with 5 speed gearbox.

Comfort and Ride

The bike has an 80/90, 17 inch tubeless tyres in the front and 100/80 17 inch tubeless tyres at the rear. The tyres are made up of imported soft compound that provides better grip to the rider of the bike. The wheelbase will be 1290 mm and minimum ground clearance provided by the bike is 160mm

The bike has a disc brake in the front and drum brake at the back and on riding the fuel consumptions is expected to be less than 40 Kmpl. A R1 style instrument and a non digital console are present in the bike. The bike is one of the sports bike with high balancing and easy handling in crowds. The bike supports lovely movements on curves and crowds.

The bike has also cleared the environmental friendly tests to get clearance for the Bharat 4 emissions standards.

Bajaj-TVS war reaches Supreme Court

New Delhi, Jan 8: Auto major Bajaj has taken its patent war against rival TVS Motor to the Supreme Court and sought a restrain on manufacturing and selling of two-wheeler 'TVS Flame'.

Bajaj Auto has sought vacation of the Madras High Court order allowing TVS Motor to go ahead with its manufacture and sale of TVS Flame.

However, when the petition was mentioned before a Bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan, it said it cannot pass any direction without hearing the TVS Motor.

The bench, however, preponed the date of hearing from January 21 to January 18.

Bajaj Auto had accused TVS Motor of infringing its patent on DTS-i (accronym for digital Twin Spark Plug ignition) in TVS Flame.

TVS, in its latest 125 cc motorcycle Flame, uses CCVTi technology which Bajaj claims to be a copy of its DTS-i technology. The Pune-based two-wheeler maker uses DTS-i technology in various products including the Pulsar series of bikes.

TVS, however, has denied BAL's allegations and has slapped a Rs 250-crore defamation suit against the Pune-based company.

A single Bench of the High Court on December 19 last in an interim order had restrained the TVS Motor from taking fresh order for the 125 cc bike. It had, however, allowed it to deliver the bike which was already booked.

TVS then approached a Division Bench against the order on the very next day on December 20 and the interim order was suspended.

Kawasaki superbikes to be available in India

Friends we have another great news after the Yamaha YZF-R15 and this one is even more exiting. The Kawasaki bikes would be soon available in India in the Bajaj Auto's Probiking showrooms.The first one to be launched is none other than the Baby Ninja 250R.
ajaj Auto Ltd, the country's second biggest bike maker, today entered into an agreement with Japan's Kawasaki for bringing the latter's high-end motorcycles into India. Among the bikes being considered are Ninja 250, sports roadster ER6n, another sports bike Ninja ZX6R, and Z1000 Vulcan Cruiser, company officials said at the Auto Expo here. The new bikes would be sold through Bajaj Auto's Probiking showrooms across the country.

The 250cc parallel-twin, 6 speed, 30 bhp Ninja250R will be imported as CKD and will be assembled here in India. This mean lower duties will be applicable as compared CBU which will help keeping the final costs low. According to senior xbhp members who spoke with officials, the bike can be expected mid2008 and will available in the price range of 1.9 to 2.2 lakhs at the Bajaj pro biking showrooms in major cities across India.

Well, its time to rejoice…Finally after months of waiting, the fans of Yamaha in India are now presented a gift in form of this wonderful Yamaha MT ..This bike was launched in Delhi. Although the price is not clear, it will definitely be that expensive than other bikes in India.
